What is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is building software by describing what you want to an AI coding tool in plain language, then testing and refining what it produces, instead of writing all the code yourself. It lets non-programmers build working apps, but the results still need testing and care with security.
How does vibe coding work?
You write a clear description of the app, ask the AI to build one small part at a time, try it, and describe fixes. Tools like Bolt, Lovable, Replit and Cursor turn your descriptions into code.
Why does vibe coding matter?
It makes building prototypes and simple tools fast and accessible. Knowing its limits, especially around security and data, separates a good vibe coder from a risky one.
An example
Example: A coaching-class owner vibe codes a simple fee-reminder app in an afternoon, then has it checked before students' data goes in.
