What is machine learning (ML)?

Also called: ML

Machine learning (ML) is the part of AI where computers learn from data instead of being explicitly programmed. A machine learning model looks at many examples, finds patterns in them, and uses those patterns to make predictions about new examples it hasn't seen before.

How does machine learning work?

You give a model examples with the right answers, for example house details and their prices. It makes guesses, measures how wrong they are, and adjusts itself to be a little less wrong, over and over. This is called training.

Why does machine learning matter?

Most AI you use, from recommendations to fraud detection, is machine learning. It's the foundation for deep learning and today's chatbots.

An example

Example: Your bank's app flags an unusual UPI payment because an ML model learned what your normal spending looks like.
