What is deep learning?
Deep learning is a kind of machine learning that uses neural networks with many layers. Each layer learns slightly more complex patterns than the one before, which lets deep learning handle messy data like images, speech and text far better than older methods.
How does deep learning work?
Early layers pick up simple features (edges in a photo, sounds in speech); later layers combine them into bigger ideas (faces, words, meaning). The network learns all of this from data during training.
Why does deep learning matter?
Deep learning powers face unlock, voice assistants, translation and chatbots like ChatGPT. It needs lots of data and computing power, which is why big companies lead in it.
An example
Example: When your phone's keyboard understands Hinglish voice typing, a deep learning model is turning your speech into text.
